I guess it was time! The hobbits sure are growing up! And Saint Anthony seems to have gotten much smaller!

Not Back to School Day

Until recently a friend hosted a Not Back to School picnic on the first day of public school. Alas, she moved to Texas and I am not so good at organizing things. We are celebrating not going back to school in a quiter way. The twin hobbits are small game hunting with their dad who happens to have today off. Little Hobbit (well, not so little Hobbit as he turned 12 a couple of weeks ago!) and I will spend the morning puttering about the yard looking for interesting bugs. I hope eveyone has enjoyed not going back to school this September!

No new name

One of the larger hobbits opined thatit was time to change the name of our school. After all they are BIG now. And two of them are vey big--5'10" and still stretching. However, I pointed out that the name came from the frequency of the meals not the size of the students. Are you ready to give up secong breakfast? Elevenses? Tea?? No. It was more like,"EGAD! NO!!" So, the name stays.

Happy Birthday...

here
Bilbo and Frodo!!! Yesterday was the birthday of our favorite hobbits and although we did not declare a school holiday we did celebrate! We had a picnic in the garden (too few picnics this Summer!), the hobbits decorated the table. Followed by a grape catching contest.. and of course, ending with fireworks. Thanks, Gandolf!
